Nearly gave me an anxiety attack

Mac App Store thoughts

  • I downloaded Twitter first because it was free, but it is a nice upgrade over Tweetie.
  • I will buy iMovie 11 at home this evening!
  • iWork is still the 2009 version.
  • The FAQ says there is no limit to the number of computers you can install the app, as long as you own or control them.
  • You can re-download apps you already purchased for free, just like the iPhone
  • I was surprised by the number of utilities and developer tools in the store. But it looks like some utilities that require deeper integration (/Library) are not there.
  • The App Store recognizes that I alread have Aperture, but does not recognize pre-app store apps like Pixelmator.
  • I love that the App Store app is not iTunes. It feels so light and focuses on the store. I hope that the other app stores follow suit.

So far, I really like the store!

Netflix adds button to remote controls. If you think about it, Netflix really has become another input device for your TV.

Doug Everly's Posterous

I am an Apple enthusiast.

At my day job, I use my Mac as a workflow hub to develop for and administer UNIX systems and applications.

I wrote TipSaver for iPhone. I wrote FolderOrg for Mac OS X. I added libgenders to iTerm to help me with my day job.

This blog will be mainly Apple and tech related, I hope others will find it insightful and helpful. However, I may post additional topics that interest me.
